BIOGRAPHYAs a tri-lingual Hearing Representative in English, Spanish, and Armenian, Viken Balabanian brings over a decade of experience in the Workers’ Compensation field to our Pasadena office. Mr. Balabanian has an Associate Degree from Caracas, Venezuela, and he earned his paralegal certificate from Pasadena City College. His experience as a paralegal and hearing representative encompasses the likes of public and governmental entities, applicants, and uninsured employers. With his understanding of WCAB procedures, Mr. Balabanian brings a unique angle to also handling cases-in-chief and lien matters up to and through trial. |

BIOGRAPHYJohn Castro is a Hearing Representative with the Law Offices of Floyd, Skeren & Kelly, LLP in our firm’s Westlake office location. His experience began in 1991 working as both a Workers Compensation and Personal Injury Claims Examiner. He began his focus on Workers Compensation by securing his California Workers Compensation Claims Administration Certifications in Workers Compensation Claims and Advance Course, Vocational Rehabilitation, Permanent Disability Rating and Medical Coordination of Workers’ Compensation Claims. Subsequently he became a Senior Claims Examiner and later began to focus on medical provider liens working in the Insurance Carriers in house litigation department. In 2012 he has completed his certification in Medicare Set Aside. He now works in our Lien Unit as his working closely with clients has brought much success in settlement negotiations and lien trials. |

BIOGRAPHYDan Dabbah is based out of our Pasadena office. With nearly 20 years of knowledge in reviewing, adjusting, and negotiating liens, his wealth of experience includes preparation and attendance at hearings before the WCAB that range from status conferences on the case-in-chief to lien trials. Dan’s tenure in the industry, with a specialization in liens, makes him uniquely qualified to represent the interests of our clients in facilitating lien resolutions. His strong communication skills and timely responses with third-party administrators, insurance companies and self insured entities ensures the most prompt and reasonable dispositions of liens, either by settlement or adjudication. |

He grew up in the San Fernando Valley and graduated from Granada Hills High with an interest in Mathematics and Science. He attended CSUN and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Accounting. He was introduced to the Workers Compensation world as a Claims Adjuster for C.N.A. Insurance Company. After six years at C.N.A., he worked as a Hearing Representative with ex retired Judge Lester Volchok. |

Ms. McGerr brings the distinct advantage of having over 15 years of experience as a Hearing Representative and a dedicated Lien Specialist. This unique experience allows Ms. McGerr to appear before the Workers' Compensation Appeal Board on not only lien trials but also on case-in-chief hearings, both with the utmost scrutiny and thoroughness. BIOGRAPHY Joaquin G. Montano is a Hearing Representative with Floyd, Skeren & Kelly's Camarillo location. After leaving the United States Army as a Military Policeman in 1988, Mr. Montano joined the State Compensation Insurance Fund as a claims examiner and soon thereafter became an expert lien negotiator. He simultaneously obtained a Degree in Political Science from the University of Southern California in 1991. Mr. Montano brings more than 25 years of experience in all areas of the workers’ compensation system. |
